The Demo Slam is the most energetic, fast-paced, and fun session of the ARWAE Workshop!
It's a rapid-fire session where our participants (that's you!) share their most brilliant, classroom-tested ideas in just three minutes (180 seconds). Think of it as a lightning-round showcase for art educators—a high-energy burst of pedagogical genius and practical tips.
The goal is high-impact sharing with low-pressure prep.
Whether you're a seasoned presenter or a first-timer, the Demo Slam is the perfect way to share your expertise:
Low Stakes, High Reward: Share an idea without the commitment of a full workshop. It's the least time-intensive way to present at ARWAE!
Be a Spark: Deliver a jolt of inspiration. These quick tips often become the most memorable takeaways for attendees.
Practice Public Speaking: A 3-minute limit is a great way to hone your presentation skills by focusing purely on clarity and impact.
Showcase Your Genius: Have a killer hack, a favourite supply trick, or a quick teaching method? This is your moment to shine!
If it's fast, focused, and useful to an art educator, it belongs in the Slam! Here are a few ideas:
Duration: Strictly 3 minutes (180 seconds). We will use a timer!
Location: Saturday, November 8th, 4:15 PM – 5:00 PM (before the closing ceremony).
Format: We encourage physical demonstrations and active sharing. Digital slides are optional—the focus is on action and clear delivery. If you use slides, keep them simple and highly visual.
Accessibility Note: We encourage clear speech and strong visual aids/demonstrations to ensure your genius is accessible to everyone in the room.
Don't wait! Spaces for the Demo Slam are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
